![]() It looks like I will have to try enabling/disabling options and post the results. I have the Alpina flash installed and it changes the gauge gear display, so I was wondering if that flash would allow a Shift suggestion via gauge cluster. Even though I have an AT the 6MT options are in there. Ok, I was going off of the options in the NFRM. So while attacking the RE5 1-2 issue, it was necessary to address two separate problem areas to come up with a complete fix: shift timing (when the shift occurs) and 1-2 shift quality. The 'tranny nanny' will automatically 'Down' or 'Up' shift the car regardless of whether you have it in 'Sport' mode or not at it's preprogrammed max shift RPM. But a maximum throttle 1-2 slide makes it even more likely to hit the rev limit, which compounds the problem. In the end, the AT will not allow you to hold the tranny in gear past it's programmed max RPM for every gear anyway. You can't miss it (even out of the corner of your eye) while driving. Personally, I use the P3Cars Vent Gage - you can set the RPM you want the shift light to come ON - it flashes the display rapidly/brightly at shift point chosen. Only shift light is in the M DCT clusters - and yes, you can retrofit/code an M DCT cluster for any 3 series car, but you still can't get the shift lights to work as they are commanded to work by the tranny, & the normal AT does not afford that signal. I've seen a lot of AT 3 series cars & none of them have a shift light, nor do they have the option of one AFAIK. I guess my 1st question is What shift light?
